Designers do a job. They should not have to do it for free.
Just a little disappointed. Baker Street Babes just put out a call for a graphic artist, but offered no compensation for their work.
Graphic designers do a job. Do a service. A service the Babes use to raise money to fund their projects.
As far as I know, they are not a charity, so the designer’s work is not eligible for tax deduction.
Devaluing design work, even for “fan” purposes, devalues all design work.
How can I expect to charge $300 for a half-page black and white ad (which is what I charge, and is a fair price) when someone will do it for free?
Just needed to get that off my chest.
